C. 1863, built as a law office with living space upstairs, it became the home of the Marion Standard newspaper until 1918 when it became the US Post Office. It was then purchased by Marshall Pope Grocery. The building even housed a one lane bowling alley for a short time. It served as a doctor's office from 1945-56.
